GRRRRRR!!!

                                  WELCOME to Whitwell, Tennessee!

The Official City of Whitwell Website!

As Whitwell is Nestled between two mountain ranges, this old mining town has grown
very slowly in the Sequatchie Valley, but many who live in and around Whitwell prefer
to call it 'God's Country'. It is very desirable being out in the country and still have the
amenities of the larger cities. The Churches are abundant and School life here is second
to none. Our very own Whitwell Middle School was responsible for putting together the
Children's Holocaust Memorial and Paper Clip Project that became very famous the
world over! There was even a movie called 'Paper Clips' made about the school's project!
Even though Whitwell has been around since the 1800s, the town was officially established
and incorporated as The City of Whitwell in 1956.

Whitwell is also the home of the Civil War Dinner Theater called Buttonwillow Church.
